I got her a credit card a few years ago and she went over her limit within 8 hours. How do you spend $10,000 in 8 hours with nothing to show for it? From that point I knew I had to teach her a lesson. I took her credit card and gave her one of Visa's prepaid Visa cards. I told her it was an upgrade (Poor child. It's a good thing she's pretty). Now, if she tries to go over a certain amount, it won't let her. Because with prepaid cards you actually put how much money you want to spend on the card. I put a $200 limit. That ought to teach her to budget. If she wants more, let her get a job. I had to teach her credit cards are not toys. Hopefully she'll learn about Visa credit cards. If not, it's at least entertaining for me to watch."
